Steve Epley

Steve Epley is a true artist who combines rock, blues, country, and rhythm & blues to create his own unique, eclectic style of music that touches the soul and inspires the mind. He has been entertaining Kansas City audiences for over 40 years as a singer/songwriter, band leader, and recording artist.  Performing in Westport clubs, honky-tonk bars, concerts, and spiritual centers, Steve has enjoyed a rich musical career.  He has shared the stage with a host of great acts, including:  The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Mamas and the Papas, Judy Collins, T-Bone Burnett, and Chicago.  Steve continues to write, record, produce, and perform some the coolest music Kansas City has to offer.

As a teenager, Steve Epley's life was deeply impacted when he visited Unity Village and became involved in the Youth of Unity in 1971.  He started a band, Logos, that wrote and performed what is now called "New Thought" or "Posi" music back in the 70s.  The band recorded an album, "Firesides and Guitars," that has recently been re-released.

Steve has over 40 years of musical experience producing albums including "Firesides and Guitars", "Butterfly", "It Took A Village" and his latest album "Co-Creator". He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays all of the instruments and does all the vocals on his solo albums.  He also writes the music and lyrics for all of the songs on his albums.

Steve has been the band leader of a number of Kansas City's best bands: His early New Thought band, Logos; Red, White & Blues, a fantastic blues band that opened for a number of famous folks; his long-running honky-tonk band, Roadhouse; and his current band, The Steve Epley Band.

Steve has also been performing solo, acoustic singer/songwriter gigs for over four decades.  His solo career has taken him onstage with Judy Collins, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, T-Bone Burnett, The Mamas and the Papas, and Chicago.  He has been a mainstay in singer/songwriter venues around Kansas City since the 1970s.

Steve lives in Lees Summit, MO, is married, has a son, and has taught English for 25 years. He is the lead guitarist and a vocalist for the Unity Village Chapel Music Team.
